Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine – West Triangle

It has always been our practice to visit my late grandpa every 1st or 2nd of November. It was different this year, since my brother (who’s the only one who can drive) had to go to work. We had no choice but go to Loyola cemetery on November 3. The sight was unusual because I’m used to seeing Loyola packed with people, tents, and food stations. Just like the previous years, we would sit on the grass, light the candles, arrange the flowers, chit-chat, take family photos, etc. And when bored, we would walk around. It was only this year that we didn’t put up a tent and prepare food. We decided to have dinner elsewhere.

Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine was the choice for that night. I could remember the number of dinners and family gatherings we had at this resto since the 90’s. It’s the classic place, nothing fancy yet it brings good memories of the old times.

We ordered: Shangri-La Seafood Soup, Sweet and Sour Pork, Shangri-La Special Noodles, Lo-Hon Vegetables, Shangri-La Spring Rolls and Yeung Chow Fried Rice. Plus bottomless drinks………..all for less than Php 3,000.

Shangri-La Spring Rolls

The spring rolls was crunchy and tasty. The sweet sauce has always been a favorite. Sweet simple taste at its best.

Sweet and Sour Pork

It has a perfect blend of sweet and tangy taste which makes me want for more. The meat was tender but not overcooked. Fresh Bellpepper, onion, and pineapple were a perfect garnish to this dish.

Lo Hon Vegetable

This vegetable dish is a medley of luscious flavors of button and shitake mushrooms, peas, carrots, cauliflower, beans, and crispy noodles underneath. Even a carnivore like me loves this veggie mix.

Shangri-La Special Noodles

This dish was the star of the night. It was superb!!! Very classic, oriental taste of the sauce mixed with the noodles topped with seafood, meat, veggies. The noodles was cooked at the right firmness, the sauce accentuated the oriental feel of the dish, the bounty combination of the toppings created an orchestra of goodness of this lavish platter.

Good food, clean place, excellent service. Clap clap clap for this resto. They have a very friendly and accommodating staff ready to take your orders and requests. Service was quick…all you have to do is press that buzzer and voila the waiter or even the manager would be there to serve you!
